Statement of Faith

What We Believe

Common Grace Grounds is a Christian ministry rooted in the historic truths of the Christian faith. Everything we do flows from our belief that our greatest hope, deepest identity, and true rest are found in Jesus Christ.

God and His Creation

We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—eternally existing in three persons. We believe that God created all things and that every person is created in His image and therefore possesses inherent dignity, worth, and value.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant and infallible, and our final authority for what we believe and how we live. Scripture reveals who God is, who we are, and the good news of what God has done to redeem sinners through Jesus Christ.

Our Need for Reconciliation

We believe that humanity is fallen and sinful and cannot restore its relationship with God through good works, religion, self-improvement, or human effort. Our greatest need is not simply to become better versions of ourselves, but to be reconciled to the God who made us.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life, died on the cross in the place of sinners, and rose bodily from the grave. Forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and eternal life are found in Christ alone.

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to Scripture alone, and ultimately for the glory of God alone.

Salvation is God’s gift, not something we earn or achieve. Those who repent and trust in Jesus Christ are forgiven, made new, adopted as children of God, and given eternal life.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit gives new life, dwells within God’s people, and works to transform them into the likeness of Christ.

Lasting spiritual change is ultimately God’s work, which is why our confidence rests not in horses, fitness, programs, or our own ability to change people, but in the power of God and the Gospel.

Our Ministry and the Local Church

Common Grace Grounds is not a church, nor are we trying to become one. We gladly serve people from many different backgrounds and recognize that faithful Christians may disagree about important secondary doctrines. Our purpose is not to reproduce those debates here.

Instead, we seek to faithfully proclaim the Gospel, share biblical truth, love and serve the people God brings to us, and encourage those who follow Christ to become meaningfully connected to healthy local churches where they can worship, be shepherded, and grow as disciples of Jesus.
