Volunteer at the Grounds
Your time can help make this place possible.
Every Helping Hand Makes Room for Someone Else
Every fence repaired, stall cleaned, garden tended, and project completed helps create a place where someone can come through the gate and be cared for.
Volunteers help make it possible for our leaders to spend more time investing in the children, families, and individuals who come to Common Grace Grounds looking for relationship, hope, purpose, and rest.
You do not need horse experience or ranch skills. If you are willing to show up, work alongside us, and lend a hand, there is probably something here that needs your hands.
There Is Always Something to Do
-
Around the Barn
Help with barn chores, cleaning stalls, and keeping the spaces around our animals cared for. We will discuss which tasks fit your experience and the needs of the Grounds.
-
Gardens and Grounds
Lend a hand with planting, weeding, gardening, landscaping, and seasonal cleanup. Your work helps make the property welcoming and ready for the people who visit.
-
Repairs and Projects
Help repair fences, paint, build, or tackle property maintenance. If you have experience with carpentry, electrical work, mechanics, or other practical skills, let us know.
-
Events and Gatherings
Help prepare the Grounds for community events, volunteer days, and other gatherings. Setting up, organizing, and cleaning afterward all make a difference.
-
Organizing and Cleaning
Bring order to supplies, workspaces, and shared areas. A clean, organized space helps the daily work run more smoothly and frees up time for serving guests.
-
Your Particular Skills
Photography, gardening, organization, building, and many other skills can support the ministry. Tell us what you enjoy doing, and we can explore where your abilities might help.
Come on Your Own or Bring a Group
We welcome individuals, families, friends, church groups, Scout troops, youth organizations, businesses, and other community groups looking for a meaningful way to give back.
You do not have to commit to volunteering every week. Come for a morning, an afternoon, or occasionally when you have time. We would also love to connect with people interested in helping regularly.
Students seeking community-service hours are welcome to reach out. Tell us about your requirements, your availability, and any deadlines so we can discuss a suitable opportunity.
For families and groups with young volunteers, include their ages when you contact us so we can talk through an appropriate project.
Seasonal Volunteer Days
-
Spring Cleanup
Help us shake off the Wisconsin winter and prepare the Grounds for another season of ministry.
These larger workdays bring people together for projects across the property, with opportunities for different ages, abilities, and skill levels.
-
Preparing for Winter
In late fall, we gather again to help prepare the property, animals, buildings, and Grounds for the colder months ahead.
Come by yourself or bring a group. You do not need to be a regular volunteer to take part.
More Than Getting Things Done
There is something good about working alongside other people toward something that matters. Serving gives us an opportunity to use what God has given us for someone else’s good, and some of the best conversations happen when our hands are busy.
Volunteers are part of the community we are building. Some people first come to the Grounds because they need something from this place. Others come because they have something to give.
Over time, we hope everyone finds opportunities to both give and receive care.
Ready to Lend a Hand?
Tell us a little about yourself, when you are available, and the kind of work you might enjoy. If you are bringing a family or group, include the approximate number of people and the ages of any young volunteers.
We will reach out to find a day and project that make sense. Please arrange your volunteer visit with us before coming to the Grounds.
